Officially authorised
Naturism is permitted by an official order, regulation, or indication. Respect the area boundaries and any signs.
Where it is
A light-sand naturist beach in the Termitosa area, nestled between Bosco della Marina, the dunes, and the long coastline of Castellaneta Marina.
On the eastern side of Castellaneta Marina, far from the most developed part of the coastline, Termitosa retains the simple appearance of Ionian beaches still surrounded by nature. The shore is made of very fine golden sand, featuring low dunes and a long strip of pine forest behind it, while the sea generally has shallow, gently sloping bottoms that, on favorable days, enhance the water's transparency.
Within this context, the Municipality has designated a stretch of about 150 meters reserved for naturist use, formally recognizing a practice that has existed for years. The area is not a beach establishment or a fenced space, but a portion of public beach integrated into the normal landscape of Termitosa, reachable on foot via the dedicated path; precisely the distance from the road and the busier area helps maintain a secluded atmosphere.
There are no beach services directly in the naturist sector, so it is advisable to arrive with water, sun protection, and everything needed for the day. On weekends in July and August, parking areas can also fill up quickly, while on weekdays the beach tends to better preserve the peaceful atmosphere that has favored its naturist frequentation over the years.
The municipal authorization is accompanied by a code of conduct that requires respect for people, the environment, and the quiet of the place, and explicitly prohibits sexual behavior, voyeurism, and unauthorized photographs or recordings: an important distinction, because the naturist destination exclusively concerns the possibility of experiencing the beach without swimwear and does not change the normal rules of civil coexistence.
Naturism authorisation

From Castellaneta Marina, reach Bosco della Marina in the area of the old station. Park in authorized spaces and follow the paths through the pine forest to the signs delimiting the naturist stretch of Termitosa (north of the station).
The beach is public and unsupervised. In summer, municipal regulations against fires, camping, and damaging the dunes and pine forest apply.
Access is free; any fees apply to parking areas or external services.
The final path crosses natural terrain and sand without a continuous boardwalk; it is not fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The Municipality of Castellaneta authorized and regulated naturism at Termitosa with a mayoral ordinance in 2024. Municipal planning for 2025 and 2026 confirms a stretch of the coastline dedicated to naturist tourism.
