Four hundred meters of naturist beach along the long shore of Feraxi, featuring light sand, shallow waters, and a coastal lagoon in the background.

What this place is like

Along the coast of Muravera, between the promontory of Capo Ferrato and the mouth of the Feraxi pond, lies one of the largest and most natural beaches in the Sarrabus region: almost three kilometers of fine, cream and bronze-colored sand, accompanied by low dunes and the wetlands of Colostrai and Feraxi. Behind the beach, the landscape changes completely compared to the more developed parts of the coast, giving way to ponds frequented by cormorants, black-winged stilts, and pink flamingos.

Since 2022, Feraxi has hosted an officially authorized naturist section of about 400 meters, established by the Municipality of Muravera with council resolution no. 27 of June 15, 2022. This is the first formally recognized naturist beach on the eastern coast of Sardinia and remains part of a public shoreline, where the dedicated sector coexists with the portions normally frequented with swimwear.

One of Feraxi's strengths is precisely its space: even during the busiest periods, the length and depth of the beach generally allow for good distances, while the gentle, sandy seabed makes entering the water gradual when the sea is calm. The naturist sector also retains a more essential feel compared to the serviced areas of the beach, so to spend the whole day there it is advisable to arrive with everything you might need. Parking, kiosks, sunbed rentals, and other services are present in Feraxi, but not necessarily right next to the 400 meters designated for naturism.

Access is via the road network leading to Feraxi and subsequently through paths toward the beach; some routes cross unpaved and back-dune areas, so it is important to proceed with caution and use exclusively the established paths, avoiding walking freely across dunes and vegetation. It is precisely this relative isolation, combined with the absence of buildings directly behind the beach, that makes Feraxi a particularly suitable place for those seeking naturism, wide open spaces, and a day at the sea far from the most congested beaches of southeastern Sardinia.
